Join us for a special screening of UNDER COVER during this year’s 16 Days of Activism and explore how we can tackle the homelessness epidemic for women over 50.
Following the premiere at Melbourne International Film Festival in 2022 and a national theatrical release, UNDER COVER will be screened at Elizabeth Picture Theatre on 8 December 2022, presented by Challenge DV and partners.
Narrated by Margot Robbie and sharing the often secret lives of an eclectic group of women across Australia, UNDER COVER shines a light on the devastating reality that women over 50 are the fastest growing cohort experiencing homelessness in the country. Their moving but optimistic portraits reveal the struggles these women face, and lay bare the flaws in our society, as well as our economic fragility in the modern world.
This event, held during 16 Days of Activism, will include a screening of the documentary and a panel discussion on the key themes of the film, including how women over 50 are the fastest growing cohort of people experiencing homelessness and the role domestic and family violence plays in enabling this to occur, as well as exploring what we can do to address this.
It’s open to the public and free to attend – participants are invited to make a donation.
Spaces are limited and RSVPs are essential – please RSVP here by close of business on Monday 5 December.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
