Transurban Queensland proudly supports the Darkness to Daylight Challenge

At Transurban Queensland we’re proud to provide an inclusive, equitable and safe workplace, and are committed to building an environment where employees affected by domestic and family violence are supported.

Sponsoring and participating in the 2018 Darkness to Daylight Challenge allows us to walk the talk on domestic and family violence.

One in three women will experience domestic and family violence in their lifetime and two thirds of these women are employed.

Recognising the impact of domestic violence on the community, we have a dedicated Domestic Violence Support Policy that supports anyone experiencing domestic violence and includes special leave entitlements, counselling services and access to flexible working options.

In partnership with Australia’s CEO Challenge, we’re proud to deliver domestic violence awareness training to all employees.

Transurban Queensland Human Resources Manager Rebecca Shearon said creating a workplace culture of respect, trust and feeling safe, and that supports team members experiencing domestic and/or family violence, is critical.

“Providing our team with resources and tools enables us to recognise, respond and refer,” Ms Shearon said.

“Participating in Darkness to Daylight allows us to reaffirm we support anyone who finds themselves in a domestic violence situation.”

“Our team is looking forward to participating in the 2018 event with numerous staff members across the business registering.”

Transurban is a major sponsor of Darkness to Daylight 2018.
