Connecting Queensland’s diverse communities to end domestic and family violence

Over 80 leaders from across Queensland’s multicultural communities, together with domestic and violence service providers, gathered at a special event in May 2022 to explore ways to end domestic and family violence together.

Dr Faiza El-Higzi OAM, a member of the Queensland Government’s Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Council was the Master of Ceremonies for the event, and featured talks from MinterEllison, Challenge DV, Micah Projects’ Brisbane Domestic Violence Service, the Refugee and Immigration Legal Service, Immigrant Women’s Support Service, Services Australia and the Queensland Police.

The event was a valuable reminder that by working together, we can make an even greater impact for the communities we serve. It’s only through collaboration and connection that we can support those in our communities who experience domestic and family violence – and end this crisis in our communities once and for all.

We were proud to collaborate with Caring is Culture and MACS to deliver the event, with thanks to our founding partners MinterEllison for hosting it in their offices.
