Run or walk to end domestic and family violence this May - Registrations are now open for Darkness to Daylight 2024

Empowering sporting clubs to lead culture change

Challenge DV offers customised community-based programs, which help sporting clubs foster safer, more respectful and inclusive environments. Grounded in honest conversations and evidence-based training, our programs bring players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters together to drive change - on and off the field.

By tapping into the influence and belonging that clubs offer, this initiative helps shift harmful norms and champions equality, respect, and inclusion.

What our program includes

  • Practical training sessions exploring gender equality, respectful behaviours, and violence prevention

  • Tools for identifying microaggressions, bias, and harmful stereotypes

  • Bystander intervention strategies that are safe, effective, and actionable

  • Self-reflection activities to increase personal accountability

What clubs can gain

  • A stronger, more inclusive culture grounded in shared values

  • Increased awareness of domestic and family violence

  • Greater confidence to challenge disrespect and inequality

  • Empowered members who can influence change beyond the club

Guiding principles

  • Gender equality and transformation

  • Intersectional inclusion

  • Accountability and reflection

Measurable impact
We assess outcomes through pre- and post-program surveys and can support clubs in reviewing or improving DFV-related policies.
